TeslaStation - A Unique StarTrek SimWelcome to Tesla Station! We are an 18+ Star Trek SIM playing aboard a Stardock Class starbase. It's huge! The commute is a killer. Located in the PG-1159 system, it is charged with the job of custodial watch over a new solar system forming nearby--one that is attracting the attention of pirates and 'other enterprises'. This nebula, now called The Pilgrim's Heart, also holds an Arcology of a long lost Akkadian colonists. Akkadia itself is a planet with which Tesla shares a solar system. The planet's indigenous people, who at one point had achieved interstellar travel (as made obvious by the arcology) chose to reboot their civ and go back to the age of steam. A simpler time of propriety and guild houses. Yes, it's ... STEAMTREK! Tesla serves another vital function for Starfleet-- The "Skunkworks." This is a leading center of R&D for new and exciting propulsion system technologies. Crewed by some of the Federation's top scientific minds, its motto is "Ooh, Shiny!" There are numerous other "beakers" on the "Bunsen burners", so to speak, some classified, some not. There is one obsolete starship in the care of the Skunkworks, which is used to test all breakthrough technology before it is published and disseminated to the fleet. The station is also the main passenger terminal for Twinsuns Interstellar Cruises itineraries in the Beta Quadrant and serves as a hub for interstellar commerce. The USS Swiftsure and USS Fury are two Wallace Class vessels assigned to the station to perform escort, interception, and general duties in neighbouring space. The Federation Archaeological Council has offices aboard base for their operations in the Beta Quadrant, overseen by an adjutant officer. Vessels leave periodically for archaeological and anthropological expeditions to nearby worlds. On a civilian front, Agora operates an extensive retail promenade, which boasts the finest food, drink, and shopping in a multi-sector radius. It heralds a thriving civilian population and community A large section of the station is home to an Environmental Module, which simulates an M-class environment for those personnel or visitors who wish to experience varying weather conditions or day and night in a holodeck-like environment. Out of Character, Tesla is a merry group of fabulous writers. It is a community of story builders. If you want to write, just write. Even if you've never done "Star Trek" before, that doesn't matter!
